I’ve been a florist for a long time.  I find it interesting that like fashion, paint colors, and food, flowers will cycle through a resurgence of popularity. Currently, one of the most asked about flowers is ranunculus.  I like ranunculus, and because they are available from the Holland Market I usually have them in the cooler all year.

With a variety of colors offered, it’s easy to transition from season to season: shades of pink, white and yellow ranunculas for spring; orange and gold ranunculus for fall; red and cream ranunculus in the winter.

People often think ranunculus look like little peonies.
They remind me of brussel sprouts.
