I was on a mission today to find a pileated woodpecker.  I’ve been waiting patiently for years.  I found out about an area nearby where there had been several sightings recently.  I was out for a couple of hours and then…there it was.  Not close enough for a picture, but I finally saw one.

While the temperatures are near freezing here in Ohio, the snow is slowly melting under the warm sun today.  It’s the middle of February, so soon, the migration of the colorful birds will be back.

Maybe next time I’ll be able to include a picture of the elusive pileated woodpecker.

Thanks for visiting.
